Wearable pieces of art and history!

Quilt Dresses

The quilt dress is the ultimate piece of clothing! Comfortable, chic, and totally unique. These dresses are an opportunity to wear a piece of history that holds a story. Each quilt is sourced locally, range from 1870s - 1940s and are hand made. I will only use a quilt that is already flawed, giving it new life as a textile rather than being stored on a shelf.

Garment Care

Wear more & wash less! If it needs a wash, throw it in the washing machine (cold water) and dryer (short time on low heat) - all pieces have been laundered that way. One of the things that I embrace and celebrate in these pieces are the flaws or distressed areas. These make up the personality and character of the quilt itself. These quilts are 100+ years old and that’s part of the magic of owning and wearing a quilt garment.

Measurements for a Quilt Dress

There are 5 key measurements that we make on these garments.

  • Sleeve opening: the circumference of the sleeve opening

  • Neck to Sleeve: the distance from the neck opening to the edge of the sleeve

  • Length: a measurement from the shoulder to the bottom hem of the garment

  • Bust: the circumference of the bust area

  • Hip: the circumference of the hip area

The silhouette of these garments is cut to be accessible for all sizes. The same piece can be worn by multiple body sizes and shapes. Please use the garment measurements and model information as a guideline before purchase.
